Terms of Service

You accept these Terms when you create an account and confirm that you agree, or when you use the Service. If you don't agree, don't use the Service. If you use the Service for an organisation, you confirm that you're authorised to accept these Terms on its behalf.

You must be at least 16 years old, or older if the law where you live requires it to use online services without parental consent; in India you must be at least 18. To buy a paid plan you must be legally able to enter into a binding contract. You can't use the Service if the law prohibits it or if we previously closed your account for breaking these Terms.

You sign in through our sign-in service with an email address and password or with Google. Keep your sign-in details secure and don't share your account. You're responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us at support@resumegrok.com straight away if you think someone else has used it. Keep your account details accurate.

ResumeGrok lets you create, edit, store, export and share resumes and cover letters, track job applications, and use AI features that suggest text and give feedback. We improve the Service over time, so features may change. If we remove a significant feature of a paid plan, we'll tell you in advance. Some features are labelled beta, such as job search. Beta features are provided as they are, may be incomplete or unreliable, and may change or be withdrawn at any time.

We offer a Free plan and paid monthly plans (Basic, Plus and Pro). What each plan includes — for example the number of resumes, the monthly AI allowance for each feature and the export formats — is shown on our Pricing page and in the app when you buy, and forms part of these Terms. Allowances reset on the 1st of each calendar month (UTC), whatever your billing date. Unused allowance doesn't carry over. If you move to a lower plan, nothing you created is deleted: your existing resumes stay available to read and download as PDF, but you can't create more than the lower plan allows.

Paid plans are monthly subscriptions, billed in advance. Your subscription renews automatically every month at the then-current price until you cancel, and you authorise us and our payment processor to charge your payment method for each renewal. You can cancel at any time in Settings → Plan & billing. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period: you keep your paid features until then and you won't be charged again. You can see your plan and its renewal date in Settings → Plan & billing. If a renewal payment fails, we or our payment processor may retry it; if it still fails, your account moves to the Free plan.

Prices are shown on our Pricing page and at checkout, in US dollars, or in Indian rupees including GST for payments in India. Any sales tax, VAT or GST we must collect is shown at checkout. We may change prices for future billing periods. We'll tell you at least 30 days in advance, in the app or by email. The new price applies from your first renewal after that notice, and you can cancel before then if you don't agree.

Except where the law requires otherwise, payments are non-refundable, and we don't give refunds or credits for partial billing periods, unused allowances or downgrades. When you cancel, you keep access until the end of the period you've paid for. If you are a consumer in the European Union, the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, you can withdraw from your first purchase of a paid plan within 14 days without giving a reason. At checkout you ask us to start your paid plan immediately, during the withdrawal period. If you then withdraw, we'll refund what you paid minus a proportionate amount for the time you had the paid plan before you told us. To withdraw, email support@resumegrok.com with a clear statement within the 14 days. Nothing in these Terms affects refund rights you have under consumer law where you live. If we seriously fail to provide the Service you paid for, contact us and we'll put it right, which may include a refund.

Pro includes unlimited use of AI features, subject to fair use: at most 100 AI actions per day (UTC) across all features. Pro also includes Advanced AI for tailoring, cover letters, imports and interview feedback for the first 300 of those actions in each billing period; after that they continue on our standard AI tier. On every plan we may apply reasonable technical limits, such as rate limits and file-size limits, to protect the Service. AI requests that fail don't count toward your allowance. Don't try to get around limits, for example by opening several accounts.

AI output is generated automatically and can be inaccurate, incomplete, out of date or unsuitable for your situation. Suggestions are only applied when you accept them. You're responsible for reviewing everything before you use it, and for the accuracy and truthfulness of the documents you send to employers or anyone else. We don't guarantee that using ResumeGrok will get you interviews, job offers or any other result. AI features are processed by our AI infrastructure. If we use an AI model provider, it acts as our processor under a contract that forbids training on your content. We don't use your content to train AI models.

You keep all rights to the content you create or upload ("your content"). You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, copy, process, transmit and display your content only as needed to provide, secure and support the Service for you — for example to save your documents, create previews and exports, run the AI features you ask for and show resumes you choose to share. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies kept in backups for up to 35 days or as the law requires. You confirm that you have the right to use your content, including any personal data about other people (such as references) that you include.

You agree not to: • break the law or infringe anyone's intellectual property, privacy or other rights; • upload unlawful, harmful, hateful, harassing or sexually explicit content, or malware; • misrepresent your identity, qualifications, credentials or work history, or use the Service to create fraudulent documents; • impersonate anyone or create a resume for someone without their permission; • scrape, crawl or harvest data from the Service, or access it by automated means other than features we provide; • reverse engineer, decompile or try to extract our source code or models, except where the law allows it despite this restriction; • misuse the AI features — for example trying to bypass safety measures or limits, generating content unrelated to your job search at scale, or using the output to build a competing AI model or service; • probe, scan or test the Service's security, interfere with its operation, or access another user's data or account; • resell, sublicense or provide the Service to others without our written permission. If you've found a security issue, please report it to legal@resumegrok.com.

When you turn on a share link, anyone with the link can view and download that resume without signing in, and may copy or forward it. You're responsible for what you share. Turn the link off to stop it working. On Free, Basic and Plus, share pages show a small "Made with ResumeGrok" note.

The Service uses or links to services run by others, such as Google sign-in, payments by Razorpay or Stripe, and external job listings. Those services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies, and we're not responsible for them. Job listings come from third parties: we don't verify them and we aren't part of any employer's hiring process.

The Service — including our software, templates, designs, text, logos and the ResumeGrok name — belongs to us or our licensors. We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Service under these Terms. You may keep using documents you made with our templates for your own job search, including after you downgrade or leave.

If you send us ideas or feedback, we may use them without restriction and without paying you.

You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time in Settings → Data & privacy. We may suspend or close your account, with notice where reasonable, if you seriously or repeatedly break these Terms, if the law requires it, or to protect the Service or other users. If we close your account without such a reason, or stop offering the Service (which we'll announce at least 30 days in advance), we'll refund any prepaid fees for the unused period and give you time to export your data. Sections that by their nature should continue after termination — including your content (for backups), disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnity and governing law — continue to apply.

To the fullest extent the law allows, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement. We don't promise that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free or secure, or that AI output, templates, health scores or keyword matches will be accurate or meet the requirements of any employer or applicant tracking system. Keep your own copies of important documents. Some places don't allow these exclusions, so some of them may not apply to you.

To the fullest extent the law allows: we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, revenue, data, job opportunities or goodwill; and our total liability for all claims about the Service or these Terms is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim, or USD 50. Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or any other liability that can't be limited by law. If you are a consumer in the EU or the UK, we are responsible for foreseeable loss and damage caused by our breach of these Terms or our failure to use reasonable care and skill.

To the extent the law allows, you'll compensate us for third-party claims, losses and reasonable costs (including legal fees) arising from your content, your breach of these Terms or your misuse of the Service. This doesn't apply to consumers where local law doesn't permit it.

These Terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts at Bengaluru, Karnataka have exclusive jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you may bring claims in your local courts. Before starting legal proceedings, please contact us at legal@resumegrok.com so we can try to resolve the issue informally.

We may update these Terms. For material changes, we'll give you notice in the app (and by email where appropriate) before they take effect — at least 30 days in advance unless a change is required by law or for security — and we may ask you to accept the updated Terms to keep using the Service. If you don't agree, you can cancel and stop using the Service; your current paid period isn't affected.

Assignment: you can't transfer these Terms without our consent. We may transfer them to an affiliate or as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, with notice to you, without reducing your rights. Severability: if any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. No waiver: if we don't enforce a provision, that isn't a waiver of our right to do so later. Entire agreement: these Terms, our Privacy Policy, our Cookie Policy and the plan details shown when you buy are the entire agreement between you and us about the Service. Events beyond our control: we're not responsible for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control. Language: these Terms are written in English. If we provide a translation, the English version prevails to the extent the law allows.
